Build a Better Future for Children with EducationWe promise to provide children and youth the educational conditions that they need to achieve adult success. We promise young African-Americans that they will have better education and career opportunities with the help and guidance from the heroes of the communities.
A kid needs proper education, healthy childhood, caring adult relationships, and safe surroundings as their basic rights, and if such opportunities are provided, there is no doubt the kid won’t succeed in life. This world needs an unbroken individual as the leader of the society, and if all four of the above-mentioned characteristics are present in someone, that person will be the one the society puts its faith in. This is a knowledge-driven society where the competition is very high to thrive, so it is only fair to get effective education to tackle it.
It is easier for the middle and upper-class to afford higher education, but for low-income families, it is just like an unachievable dream. But, Kennedy’s Hope wishes to make this dream a reality for every child by offering students courses that can help students improve their grades to get into better colleges and also get scholarships.
Our Focus
Math Courses
English Courses
We offer essential English courses to cover the basics of grammar and essay writing. These courses help students learn the basics and rules of writing to be able to pass the exams with ease. These classes are taught by expert teachers from the community, who aim to make the students master the subject within a few days.
Science Courses
These tutoring sessions include classes for subjects like physics and chemistry. The volunteer teachers offer lessons on Tuesday Evenings as an extra incentive and this program is also named ‘Tuesday Night Tutoring’.
Providing Opportunities to Improve Student Grades
We have a team of helpful, hopeful, and civically engaged volunteer teachers from the community, who help youth with subjects like sciences, languages, math, to improve their concepts and grades. With the help of partners from the community, we are focusing on improving the high school graduation rates and especially taking care of the students coming from low-income families, or who score poorly on standardized tests.
Along with providing courses for different subjects and preparation for standardized tests, we have the following goals;
- Build self-confidence with the help of African-American speakers
- A small-group session with influential professionals
- Competitions to grant scholarships
- Networking skills development
- College application sessions
- Career workshops by the heroes and leaders of the community
These are the key goals that will provide support and education the students need to pursue their college degrees and career aspirations. This program is called ‘Living the Dream’, which provides betterment for the whole society.
